THURSDAY 5 – SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER 2026

Bonfire Night & beyond in the Midlands

It's the big fireworks weekend. Whether your little ones love a bang or hide behind the sofa, there's something here: gentle low-noise displays, a dragon drone show with no bangs at all, the region's biggest fireworks, and plenty to do when the sky's quiet, from free workshops to the first Christmas market of the season.

At a glance

  • Little ones or noise-sensitive? Sky Kingdom drone show at Edgbaston (no fireworks at all) or Churchfields' low-noise display near Droitwich.

  • A gentle start, then the big one: Solihull and Wolverhampton both run an early lower-noise family display before the main show.

  • Biggest bang: Himley Hall's 30-minute musical display on Saturday.

  • Budget-friendly: Warwick Town Bonfire (under-15s £2), a free creative workshop at MAC, and free entry to the Frankfurt Christmas Market.

  • Saturday is the busiest night. Many displays are advance-ticket only, so book before you go.

Parent tips for fireworks night

  • Book ahead. Walsall and Solihull don't sell on the gate, and the drone show has no door sales.

  • Pack ear defenders, even for "low-noise" shows. Low noise means fewer booms, not silence.

  • Plan the exit. The fireworks last 20–30 minutes, but leaving the car park can take far longer. Park-and-ride or public transport usually wins.

  • Agree a meeting point before it gets dark, and make sure the kids know it.

  • Wellies and layers. Most displays are on grass, and it'll be cold once the sun goes down.

Details checked at time of publishing. Displays can change or be cancelled in high winds, so always check the organiser's website or social media on the day.
